LUCID DREAMS

A lucid dream is an incredible experience that only a few have enjoyed, but these numbers are gradually expanding due to an ever-growing knowledge base in the way of books, websites such as this one and actual courses offered in various places.

Basically a lucid dream is KNOWING that you are dreaming within the dream. A hyper-realization of dreaming from within the midst of your dream. An extraordinary vivid awareness that you are dreaming from within any stage of a normal and regular dream. It is like waking up inside the dream! And boy, what a wake up call! It is sooo awesome!

There are different levels of lucidity, a term used to describe the awareness or the stark realization of knowing you are dreaming in a dream. If you are experiencing or have experienced such a dream- then it can be said that you’ve gone lucid.

An ultra-lucid person is fully aware that everything happening in the dream is ONLY happening in their mind. You are fully aware that there are absolutely no real dangers to you, that you are only dreaming and eventually will safely awaken from your bed at some point in time.

And WOW! What powers these are when this realization hits you in the midst of standing in some strange dream world! A world, that now after having become lucid, is under your complete control! You are King and supreme ruler!

This high-level is what I call lucidity- or a lucid dream. There is supposedly a lower-level, but in that stage, even though you may be aware that you are dreaming and will have very limited control of what you want to do, you will not recognize people as being merely DCs (dream characters) or that you are safely at home tucked away in bed incapable of suffering any type of physical harm. In reality, this low-level lucidity is not much more distinguishable from a regular dream.

There are many very good books out there in regards to lucid dreaming. I am the proud owner of some of these books. Later in upcoming posts, I will recommend some of these books to you.

I will also be sharing my own lucid dreams with you. I will reveal my very first experience to you and some of the techniques that I use while in a lucid state which I developed on my own even before I knew there was such a thing as a lucid dream- or lucidity!

It is so amazing! It’s like a life-like virtual world at your finger tips! Yes indeed! It is so real, that certain techniques must be used to make sure it is really a dream that you are experiencing and not the real “wake-up” world. Because you will become so fully awake within your dream that you will not be able to distinguish it from the real world!

And I’m telling you, once you’ve determined within the dream, by using one of these techniques, that it is indeed only a dream, there are no boundaries to what you can do, none whatsoever! It goes well beyond your imagination.

Just imagine if you will, talking to people that look so real, but really knowing within your dream that these people aren’t real and only exist in your own mind for your own pleasure! And this is so strange, even though it is your own dream- these DCs have their own personalities!

Oh yeah, you’ll find yourself in a lucid and very vivid dream world where the world continues going ‘round and people are going to and fro minding their own business. And yet, you can walk up to any one of them and ask them their name and they will respond! They all come with their own character and personality. Just like in the real world. And it all feels so real- you won’t be able to distinguish it from the real deal! Very, very awesome!

Or imagine if you will, that you want to play bank robber for a day knowing fully well that nobody is really going to get hurt. So just go do it! But be well aware- this people will act all on their own and will either give in or come after you! I suppose though, that this is part of the fun.

Some people experiment by putting a finger through a wall and eventually working a hand and then the arm until eventually they walk through them.

When I first read that, and then had a lucid dream, I actually tried that without any fear whatsoever, and was able to walk right thru the wall. It was so neat! Many people experiment with flying or walking under water. One guy who was afraid of heights in real life, actually would take the elevator up to the tallest building and then, get this, jump of off the very top! No way! I wouldn’t dare do that. I am afraid of heights and these dreams are so, so life-like, that this would appear to be happening for real.

Other folks involve themselves with their dream characters. One person once asked one of them what their name was. After getting the name, the DC was then asked what was he doing in that person’s dream, at which the DC responded rudely and walked away!

So we are going to have some fun here with lucid dreams. I’ll share my experiences and those of others as well. We’ll get into various techniques in all aspects of lucidity. I’ll recommend some good books that cover this subject and will post any interesting news as well.

Feel free to share your experiences or post any questions. Despite my hectic schedule, I will try to add information here as often as I can. So check back often and look at the Category Section on the right for any new content.
